The Daystate Delta Wolf Tactical is a hyper modern electronic PCP air rifle. One might even call it a smart airgun. As a modern and very progressive airgun manufacturer, the British Daystate has most certainly brought the concept airgun to a whole new level.

Smart airgun
What makes this air rifle special, is its electronic heart. Instead of a mechanical trigger mechanism, the Daystate Delta Wolf Tactical features an electronical trigger system with a solenoid. Simply said, an electromagnetic valve. An electronic trigger itself isn’t unique nowadays, but Daystate combines this one with a chronometer that’s integrated in the barrel sleeve and a computer that makes calculations and adjustments to the valve settings.
After entering variables such as calibre, pellet weight and barrel length, the Daystate Delta Wolf Tactical will calculate which settings are needed. For instance, when you enter a preferred pellet speed. Normally, you’d be playing with port openings, hammer spring tension et cetera, to achieve the perfect power and power delivery for an optimal speed for the pellet. All this is now done by the computer after simply entering the desired speed onto the touchscreen. The Daystate Delta Wolf Tactical will then calculate and adjust, all you need to do is take a couple of shots and notice the air rifle adjusting itself until the pellet speed is spot on. Once you have determined at which speed a certain pellet performs at its best, there’s no need for multiple adjustments, simply enter the preferred speed and that’s it.
The electronics enable you to make rapid changes to the power of the Daystate Delta Wolf Tactical air rifle. No screws to fiddle with, just choose low, mid or high power on the touchscreen and you’re done. However, if you prefer to experiment yourself, the Daystate Delta Wolf Tactical will let you do that too. You can electronically adjust how hard, how long and how fast the valve is opened by the solenoid. And when you’ve reached a setting that suits you, it can be stored in the memory of the computer. That way, you’ve got the preferred settings for all pellets that you use in reach with just a touch on the screen.
Change calibre easily
If you need to adjust the regulator pressure, you can still do that manually. However, the Daystate Delta Wolf Tactical comes perfectly pre-set for the calibre and power level it’s delivered in. Normally, there’s no need to change the regulator pressure, only when you change calibre or barrel length. And doing that is quite easy, as we supply Daystate Delta Wolf barrel kits consisting of a barrel and pellet probe. After replacing these, your Daystate Delta Wolf Tactical is perfectly kitted up for a new calibre, without the need for any other changes. Just enter the new calibre into the system, the weight of the pellets or slugs used and the computer will setup the air rifle for you. A regulator pressure will be recommended, but it’s up to you to follow that advice or start finetuning yourself. Experimenting is always possible.
Quite convenient: the touchscreen can be adjusted in brightness and even has a night mode. There’s a shot counter and when the magazine is empty, a vibration will be sent through the air rifle. It can take a while though, as it’s possible to load two magazines at once. The screen has an adjustable time-out timer and you can also set the amount of time after which the complete electrical system will shut itself down. If you’re not using the chronometer, you can switch it off, saving the battery that can be charged through a USB-C port. The Daystate Delta Wolf Tactical is Bluetooth enabled to connect with other devices after future upgrades.
Outstanding quality
The Daystate Delta Wolf Tactical PCP air rifle is a technological gem. The quality is outstanding with a proper finish and high-end parts. For instance, the barrel is supplied by German barrel maker Lothar Walther and the regulator comes from Dutch specialist Huma Air. By using a fast-flow valve and a large plenum (second chamber), maximum use is made of the 480 cc of compressed air inside the carbon bottle.
The top of the action features a dovetail rail to provide the Weaver/Picatinny scoperail an adjustment range of 150 mm to provide for the use of a zero eye relief rifle scope. On both sides, Weaver/Picatinny accessory rails are mounted, as is one on the underside for the use of a bipod.
The smooth cocking side lever can be mounted on both sides and both the butt stock and cheek piece are adjustable, making the Delta Wolf Tactical perfectly adjustable and ambidextrous. Also perfectly adjustable is the 2-stage trigger of which the first stage is adjustable in length and weight, while the weight of the second stage can also be altered. Even the trigger blade is adjustable for perfect ergonomics.
